Facundo Ponce de León
Facundo Ponce de León was born in Montevideo in 1978. Facundo is a PHD in Philosophy at the Universidad Carlos III from Madrid. In 2001 he was awarded a degree in Philosophy and one in Communication Sciences at the Universidad de la República in Uruguay. He then worked as a journalist for the written press. Besides, he conducted a TV program for the television. At the same time, he began his career as a professor at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay teaching Philosophical Anthropology and Theory and Practice of Argumentation. As percussionist, he recorded the album “Y qué dirán” with the band Kuropa&cia. He is the author of the book “ Daniele Finzi Pasca, teatro de la Caricia”. He was assistant direction and researcher at Donka, a letter to Chekhov, and La Verità, both written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca. He is a researcher for the Company Finzi Pasca. In 2012 he founded with Juan Ponce de León Mueca Films.
Juan Ponce de León
Juan Ponce de León was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1985. When he finished high school he took up a four-year course on cinema in “Escuela de Cine del Uruguay”. During those four years, he produced various short films while, at the same time, he worked as a cameraman for different and diverse TV programmes ( Vidas, Planta Baja, Sin Atajos). In 2008 he got a degree in Production and Stage Designing. Since then, he has been working as producer, editor and direction assistant both in cinema and publicity. In 2009 he writes and produces a short film, “Beethoven, grandes éxitos”.He was direction assistant in the film La Casa Muda and in a tv series Adicciones, a 13 chapter series broadcasted in Canal 12 in Uruguay. In 2012 he founds Mueca Films in a joint venture with Facundo Ponce de León.
